OUR MISSION
Christian Union Lux is a Christian fellowship and undergraduate organization at Yale University. As a child organization of Christian Union, CU Lux inherits the mission of transforming our nation and world by developing and connecting bold Christian leaders.
We believe that the world is in dire need of leaders that have a deep understanding of the Christian Gospel, knowledge of the Word of God as expressed in Scripture, steadfast compassion, and unshakeable moral conviction. This training, when combined with deep knowledge in other disciplines, strong critical thinking abilities, and a richly supportive network, will produce a renewed generation of strong Christian leaders. That is why Christian Union strategically focuses on students of the nation’s most influential universities.
We hope to carry out our mission through a strong curriculum focused on saturating every student in the Word of God and a lifestyle of seeking fervently after Christ. As a community of faith, we build each other up to grow in loving kindness. As a community of action, we commit ourselves to serve and lead as disciples in every community in which God places us.
STATEMENT OF BELIEF
Christian Union is a non-denominational organization. We believe in the supreme and final authority of the sixty-six books of the Bible in the Old and New Testaments, and accept areas of doctrinal teaching that are generally agreed upon among all Christians. We believe in the freedom of conviction on other doctrinal matters, unless it seriously hinders the ministry to which God has called us. This freedom, we believe, helps promote dialogue that strengthens our faith and enables us to take part in a universal restoration of the global Church.
